Aleida Gerena-Rios, MBA

Aleida Gerena-Rios, MBA, was reappointed to serve as a member of the California Board of Podiatric Medicine by the Senate Rules Committee June 1, 2007. Ms. Gerena-Rios previously served as Mayor to the City of Pittsburg and on the Council from November 2000 to November 2004. She has held numerous leadership positions in the community. Some of those organizations are: Latin American Women's League, Commission for Women of Contra Costa, Latino Leadership Council of Contra Costa, Homeless Task Force for Contra Costa, Contra Costa Transportation Authority, East Bay League of California Cities, Revenue & Taxation Policy Committee, Latino Caucus, Fair Housing Committee, among many others. She attended Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, CA where she earned her Associate Degree in Accounting. She continued her education to earn a BA and her Masters in Business Administration. Ms. Gerena-Rios is now in a new community in Northern California, Garberville, where she serves as the District Administrator for the Garberville Sanitary District. The District is an independent special district governed by a five member Board of Directors elected by Garberville's voters. The District provides Sewer and Water to its community. In this community Ms. Gerena-Rios, is part of the Rotary International and Board of Director, CAC for the KMUD Redwood Community Radio in Garberville, CA. Ms. Gerena-Rios in her spare time also continues to have her own accounting business. Term: (June 1, 2007 through June 1, 2011)
